Choir Director’s Letter

Hello Tarpon Springs High School Chorus Department!

I am so excited to be the newest addition to the TSHS Choral Legacy. My name is Ms. Santos, I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Choral Music Education from the Florida State University. I will be entering my 6th year of teaching with the past 5 years being at a middle school in Orlando. I have just recently received the Lindsey Keller Rising Star award for teachers who have maintained, grown, and/or established a choral program that is currently thriving under their leadership. I am the current Co-Coordinator for the FLACDA 6-9 TB Honor Choir and have previous experience in All County Leadership and FVA District Leadership. I am a member of the American Choral Directors Association, the National Association for Music Educators, and alumni of Sigma Alpha Iota. I believe that through music we can create a community of kindness, acceptance, and love.

I am ready to get this school year up and running and provide opportunities for our students to grow as musicians and young leaders. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to teach at this school and to watch your talented students grow and explore the joys of singing together in the choral classroom. You have chosen to be a part of a family of students who share a passion for learning and performing. The quality of the TSHS Chorus will be the result of the hard work, passion, and dedication that we all give to the program. The education of your child is a team effort among students, teachers, and parents. Each part of that team needs to feel the support of the other two in order to ensure a productive and positive learning environment.

I welcome you as part of our choir family and look forward to your involvement with the choir. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns that may arise throughout the year!
